Experience the fun and thrill of rock climbing in our beautiful indoor facility through our summer camp programs. Our camps are designed to create a supportive environment where kids can make friends, explore new skills, challenge themselves and build self-confidence. We offer a variety of summer camps each year, including partnership camps with Spy Hop, Play-Well, and Salt Lake Arts Academy! Each camp strives to provide a fun and educational experience to entertain and inspire today’s youth. We provide all necessary equipment as well as a camp souvenir and a daily snack.

Climb On - Weekly Summer Camps

- Dates: Weekly from June 8 - August 14
- Time: Sessions run from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. OR 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
- Ages: 6 - 13
- Cost before March 31: $210/week
- Cost after March 31: $225/week

The Climb On camp is our original summer camp program that we offer every year! Participants will learn climbing fundamentals such as rope work, movement and how to use climbing equipment. During this process, they’ll learn life skills such as problem-solving, self-awareness, goal setting, communication and perseverance. These skills can then be carried out of the gym and into their everyday lives. We’ll also have fun games such as no-handed climbing, blind climbing and climbing capture the flag! 

We will also be offering special features during a few of the Climb On camps. If you’re interested in any of the following topics, please sign your kiddos up for that week:

« Yoga Special Feature |  Week of June 22 or August 10

Campers will be provided with the opportunity to learn about yoga and develop their practice. Our experienced Yogis will to introduce them to the different styles of yoga, poses, sequences and meditation. Through this, our Yogis will work with the kids to train the body and mind to self-observe and become more aware. The yoga special feature weeks will have two 35-minute sessions of yoga on Tuesday and Thursday.

« Natural History Museum of Utah |  Week of July 20

Experienced leaders from the Natural History Museum of Utah will spark curiosity and inspire passion for the natural world with engaging activities. NHMU staff will be coming in to lead educational lessons that will cover anything from rocks and minerals, paleontology, Utah wildlife, Native American basketry, native dyes and insects.

Campers will have the chance to experience raptors up close and learn about conservation and work to build appreciation for the natural world while touching on Leave No Trace ethics.

Art of Climbing: On the Draw

- Location: This is a partnership camp with Salt Lake Arts Academy, but the camp will be held at The Front
- Dates: Week of June 29 & July 27
- Time: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
- Ages: 10 - 13
- Cost: $225/week

Climb and observe the beauty of vertical movement while developing figure drawing skills! We’ll start most days at the gym by using our bodies to understand vertical movement, good footwork and balance to learn how to be a better climber. After our muscles have warmed up and we’ve begun to develop an understanding of the anatomy beneath our skin, we then will break out our sketchbooks to create gestural studies of figures on the wall. Students will also take turns creating interesting climbing poses for their classmates to sketch while top roping or bouldering.

*New* Lego Engineering Camp

- Dates: Week of July 6 for 6 - 9 year olds | Week of July 27 for 10 - 13 year olds
- Time: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Ages: 6 - 13
- Cost: $350/week

In the morning, campers will get to experience the fun and thrill of rock climbing in our beautiful indoor facility.  In the afternoon, they will dive into a massive collections of LEGO®. Play-Well staff will guide them as they explore fundamental principles of engineering and physics and build elaborate objects, structures and vehicles. Kids also learn to collaborate and create without fear of mistakes. The experience is joyful, the impact long lasting. 

Climbing will take place from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and LEGO engineering from 12:30 p.m. -3:30 p.m.

Advanced Climbing Camp

- Location: The Front
- Dates: August 17 - 21
- Time: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. or 1 p.m. - 5: p.m.
- Ages: 6 - 13
- Cost before March 31: $210/week
- Cost after March 31: $225/week

Does your child already have some experience climbing? Or did they already participate in one of our climbing camps this summer and feel as though they’re ready for an extra challenge? The Advanced Camp is designed for individuals that are looking to further their climbing skills and technique. Climbers will dive even deeper into climbing fundamentals and begin to learn more advanced movement. Advanced Camp is also great for those who are considering joining one of our youth climbing teams.

On Belay, Game On

- Location: The Front & Spy Hop Studios
- Dates: June 22 - 26
- Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Ages: 9 - 12
- Cost: $300/week

Learn (or improve upon) climbing fundamentals then spend the afternoon with Spy Hop Studios using Unity3D software to create your own rock climbing video game. Follow a path up the wall to reach the top. But watch out! As your character climbs the wall they will confront enemies of your creation like killer bees and spiders.

Drop off in the mornings at The Front and pickup at Spy Hop in the afternoon. Transportation between sites is provided.

Sci-Fi & Rock Climbing

- Location: The Front & Spy Hop Studios
- Dates: July 13 - 17
- Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Ages: 9 - 12
- Cost: $300/week

Learn (or improve upon) climbing fundamentals then travel to Spy Hop Studios in the afternoon to build a spaceship, create your own planet and explore new worlds through film! In this camp you will use craft materials and costumes to create your own sci-fi movie. Learn to use green screens, special effects, cameras, lights and editing software to make your own space-age film.

Drop off in the mornings at The Front and pickup at Spy Hop in the afternoon. Transportation between sites is provided.

Epic Adventures Magazine Spread & Rock Climbing

- Location: The Front & Spy Hop Studios
- Dates: August 3 - 7
- Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m
- Ages: 9 - 12
- Cost: $300/week

In the mornings you’ll be yodeling to the mountain goats and scrambling through difficult terrain as you learn climbing fundamentals like rope work, movement, problem solving and how to use climbing equipment at The Front. Then, you’ll travel to Spy Hop Studios in the afternoon where you’ll create your own explorers magazine spread, showcasing your own epic adventure! Explore fortresses like Lara Croft, or swing from vines like Tarzan! You’ll learn to use basic photography skills and tools such as cameras, lighting, green screen and costumes to put yourself on the cover of your very own Adventure Magazine. Drop off in the mornings at The Front and pickup at Spy Hop in the afternoon. Transportation between sites is provided.

Camp Cancellation Policy

All bookings are final and no refunds will be provided. To transfer a booking to another week of camp, a 7 day notice is required. *This applies to all camps except for Spy Hop.

Spy Hop’s Cancellation Policy: A 100% refund will be given for classes dropped up to four full weeks prior to the first day of class. Requests to drop a class and /or requests for refunds must be made in person at Spy Hop, 669 S. West Temple or by phone at 801-532-7500. Parents are responsible for dropping all desired classes for their children before the drop deadline. No refunds will be issued after the drop deadline passes. No refunds will be authorized in the event of a student dismissal. Please contact us at 801-532-7500 if you have extenuating circumstances beyond student or parent control and we will work with you to come up with a reasonable solution.
