Local Ogden artist Erica Lyon has just finished her latest pieces for The Front Climbing Club! If her art looks familiar to you, it may be because it was featured on some Front apparel last year as well! Erica has been painting since she could stand, and early on was inspired by childhood books with illustrations of natural spaces that we all love to play in. Today her paintings are of her adventures and the places she loves, which she captures on paper, canvas, and wood.

Currently, Erica works at Ben Lomond High School in Ogden as an art teacher, where she inspires her students through visual art. Students are a major component for her and constantly push her to become a better artist herself.

Erica has raised money through donations of art and nonprofit work that relate to her passions of climbing and hiking. She has served as a Peace Corps volunteer, where she combined her love of art and traveling while teaching art to deaf students in Ghana. Her passion through the Peace Corps also led her to raise and train guide dogs, one of whom is currently a therapy dog in her classes.

We are honored to have such a talented artist such as Erica as a member of our gym and artist for our branded apparel. We have a limited supply of her Front apparel so stop by one of our gear shops to pick some up!

Other than our green logo hoody and “the front, the back” tank, all the rest of the following photos feature Erica’s art. Big thanks to our lovely Front staff for modeling our new merch!
