A 13-week CSA Share with Farmer Next Door Starts on June 6th!

Every basket from Farmer Next Door holds a variety of lush veggies, fruits, eggs, cheese, deliciously baked bread, and the key to keeping our local community healthy and happy! Unlike shopping at a grocery store, you don’t get to pick. You get what the land gives you and you’ll be healthier for it.

Farmer Next Door brings fresh, locally grown produce to your table year-round. And they mean that literally (they deliver). If you’re eating your veggies, you’re already ahead of the pack health-wise… But most produce travels thousands of miles and is already 2 weeks old by the time you pluck them from your local grocery store. Jill Bell, the organizer of Farmer Next Door, knows that the majority of Salt Lake foodies prefer buying food that’s grown locally. That comes as no surprise as food shipped in from around the world is artificially ripened and contains 80% more pesticides and preservatives. Despite the preference for locally grown food, farmland along the Wasatch is vanishing rapidly. The further food production moves away from its consumers, the worse it becomes for our health and the health of our environment. As farmland continues to decrease, it becomes harder for farmers to sell to consumers.

The Farmer Next Door co-op includes 25-30 farms that team up to provide fresh produce to the community all year long. Only a few sell to grocers in the valley and the rest depend on farmer’s markets or selling directly from their location.

Thankfully, we no longer have to give up what we prefer to what’s convenient. Starting on June 6th, you can pick up your weekly basket of goods at The Front! Front members get all this for $325 (that’s just $25 a week)!
